Posted by admin in : VJaying , comments closedMIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface and was developed in 1983 as a way of standardising the interfacing of keyboards, drum machines, sequencers and other musical instruments.
If you are new to MIDI here is a useful site to get you started, the MIDI Manufacturers Association.
MIDI isn’t just about music it is also used in lighting desks nd is often used to trigger events to create interactivity with applications like VVVV or Director.

Posted by admin in : VJaying , comments closedIf you are interested in getting into VJaying then Arkaos offers an easy solution. You can download a free trial copy from their web site It is valid for 20 days.
You can import videos and still images, add live cameras and type and mix multiple sources with a wide range of visual effects from your lap top keyboard, music keyboard or midi instrument. You can synchronise visuals with audio either through beat detect or midi.

Students of the FdA Digital Media Production course have been invited to take part in this years Unsafe 4 Festival of experimental music at Poole Lighthouse on the 31st October 2008, providing VJ’d visuals to the groups performances.
